Bata senior management visiting CPS
On Wednesday 15 June 2022, the Centre for Polymer Systems received special visitors – officials of Bata Company. They included Mr Charles Pignal, the great-grandson of Tomas Bata.
Accompanied by Professor Petr Sáha, the guests toured the building – the technology hall as well as the laboratories; they were interested, for example, in footwear made of biodegradable material, which CPS scientists are working on, among other things. “It’s incredible how you have managed to get so many cutting-edge machines and pieces of equipment under one roof. I travel a lot around the world, but I haven’t seen this before,” said Charles Pignal. Last but not least, Bata officials also learned very recent updates from the Footwear Research Centre.
